The cellar’s tours are going on also in summertime with Vigneti Aperti, while the winery is getting ready for the most magical event of the season: Calici di Stelle
“The hot weather and the blazing sun are not scaring the guests who choose to spend a weekend in Montalcino discovering its delights. Nature, during this season gives unique nuances and the cellar is also a very fresh place!” Lorenzo, Lisa and Serena are so describing the summer in Brunello’s lands. They are the third generation leading the historic winery Franco Pacenti. The winery was established in the 60’s and it is very close to the city, in the area called Canalicchio, which is one of the most suitable areas for the wine production of the whole Montalcino. Since summer is here, they offer, just like every year, various events dedicated to wine-tourists and wine-lovers.
A visit of the cellar in Montalcino: It is Vigneti Aperti’s time
Whether you are a tourist or a local looking for something to do in Montalcino during this summer, Franco Pacenti has the answer. As a matter of fact the winery organised a very busy summer schedule which has the classical cellar tours along with a series of special events. From the 9th to the 11th of July, Vigneti Aperti will take place. This event is among the initiatives proposed by the Movimento Turismo del Vino and it will bring its guests right there, where the Brunello di Montalcino by Franco Pacenti is born: the vineyard.
“Usually, during the cellar’s tours we would bring our guests through the wine-making area and the ageing cellar – this is what is explained by the winery- during Vigneti Aperti, on the other hand, they will have the chance to also visit the vineyard and get an immersive experience: to see where everything is born. Lorenzo will accompany the guests in this experience, he will bring them in a journey discovering Sangiovese but the Canalicchio’s terroir as well.
Calici di Stelle is back in Tuscany
There is no August without Calici di Stelle. It is an evocative event which sides the magic of the night of San Lorenzo with the Italian wine-excellencies. Franco Pacenti decided to join from August 10th to 13th. “It is not everyday that you can enjoy a sunset or under the stars picnic, with a view on the vineyards and with a glass of Brunello di Montalcino- the three siblings continue explaining- we love Calici di Stelle because of its atmosphere. The ones who will choose to join the event will be able to taste our wines, among which the new vintages Rosso di Montalcino 2018 and Brunello di Montalcino 2016, while immersed in the Tuscan countryside”.
In addition to Vigneti Aperti and Calici di Stelle, for the whole summer time it is possible to book tours of the cellar and winetastings. Among the different options available there is also the possibility to enjoy a picnic in the olive grove: the guests will be given a basket full of typical Tuscan km0 delicacies matched with Franco Pacenti’s wines.
