December, the slow month, perfect to live the cellar
After racking off and with the oil ready to be consumed, the Franco Pacenti – Canalicchio starts thinking about Christmas.
In december, there is a suggestive atmosphere in the cellar: the frenzy of september and october is a distant memory and you can walk through the barrels where the wine matures, surrounded by silence. In this period living the cellar is a fascinating experience: for the Christmas holidays the company opens its doors to the guests for a full tour and an unusual tasting.
This is a unique opportunity to slowly discover secrets and anecdotes of the winery and its wines, admiring the large Slavonian oak barrels and tasting the products in combination with traditional Christmas sweets. An example of that? Grappa di Brunello, a young grappa, with hints of red fruit, which preserves all the aromas of Sangiovese, perfect to be tasted accompanied by cantucci, panforte and cavallucci, typical of the Sienese tradition, to warm the cold winter days.
The tour will be the ideal opportunity to breathe the family atmosphere of Christmas time and to finally taste “l’Olio novo” with a classic bruschetta. An oil with an intense and fruity taste, obtained strictly from the first cold pressing of the olives harvested in October.
